Thank you for your interest in being part of our mission, i.e. to:
- create a long-term platform that trains and connects globally the CDR Experts of the future; and
- offer one of the best near-real, practical learning, exchanging, and networking experiences worldwide.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Every year, we are looking for experienced international professionals with a strong background in mediation or negotiation who are keen to volunteer as “Expert Assessors” for the IBA-VIAC CDR Competition. And this is no different this year!
For the 2023 IBA-VIAC CDR Competition, we again assemble a diverse international team of around 60 Expert Assessors, consisting of in-house counsel, mediators, negotiators, lawyers, mediation trainers, negotiation trainers, academics, and government representatives from all continents.
Why should you be part of the IBA-VIAC CDRC Vienna
If selected as Expert Assessor, you will have the chance to work closely with about 150 students from around the world. The students have been carefully selected based on their qualifications as well as their skills in oral advocacy, presentation, persuasion, and creativity.
Expert Assessors help us score the performances of the competing students. They also provide the students with valuable, individualised feedback after each session. Expert Assessors thus help the students to learn, to improve, to grow, and even to excel throughout the IBA-VIAC CDR Competition.
We like to think of our Expert Assessors as being essential to shaping the CDR Experts of the future!
And of course, there is the opportunity to network with fellow Expert Assessors as well as the students and their coaches. Expert Assessors attend all social and evening events as well as all competition sessions, training sessions, workshops, lectures, and panels organised by the IBA-VIAC CDR Competition.
What we need from you
Expert Assessors are the heart of the IBA-VIAC CDR Competition. They often become caring advisors and mentors for the students, often well beyond the Competition. Therefore, we take a lot of care in selecting the most outstanding professionals as Experts Assessors. Expert Assessors are selected based on their (in no particular order):
- competence;
- experience;
- mediation qualification and accreditation;
- training experience;
- experience in giving feedback and assessing students;
- availability throughout the IBA-VIAC CDR Competition; and
- feedback received by the organisers after previous IBA-VIAC CDR Competitions.
The selection of Expert Assessors occurs at the full discretion of the organisers.
Availability
Our Expert Assessors must be available for:
- the mandatory introduction session for Expert Assessors (Saturday, 8 July 2023); and
- all preliminary rounds (Saturday, 8 July 2023 to Tuesday, 11 July 2023).
